British Industry’s annual music award, The Brit Awards 2022 happened on Tuesday. Ballads over Bangers, was the vibe as english singer Adele outshined all others during the awards. Adele took up three of the four major awards at the Brit Awards on Tuesday.
Adele also delivered a confident performance of her song I Drink Wine. The singer took home the Best Album and best artist of the year award. She also won the best song of the year for her very famous track Easy on Me.
After dominating the whole Brits with her sheer talent Adele gave an interesting speech. In accepting the first of her three Grammy Awards, for best song, Adele exclaimed: “I still can’t believe I won against so many other bangers with a piano ballad!”
The winner of the first-ever genderless award for overall artist of the year, presented by the British Academy, went on to say: “I understand why the name of this award has been altered, but being a woman and being a female artist is something I like. I’m quite pleased with our performance.”
These statements of Adele drew a few criticisms among personalitis like Peirs Morgan and Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries. They accused Adele of being concerned about the new system. They said Adele is worried as to how the new system would work with respect to fair gender representation.
Adele is an alma-mater of BRITS school of performing Arts and Technology. Commencing her career in 2006, Adele has become one of the best-selling music records of the world. She has around 120 million sales which is a lot.
When talking about Adele you can never miss her record-breaking album “divorce album”. The album as its name suggests was about her divorce from her ex-husband Simon Konecki. The star’s divorce record, which sold more than 600,000 copies in only six weeks, was the best-selling album of 2021.
She dedicated her award to her kid and ex-husband, who both appeared on the album. Adele married Simon in the year 2018 but got divorced in 2021. The couple has a boy together. Currently, Adele is dating sports agent Rich Paul.
Other winners of the Brits
Ed Sheeran was also named songwriter of the year at a ceremony held at London’s O2 Arena, where he played his hit single Bad Habits with rockers Bring Me the Horizon..
The other major award of the evening went to Dua Lipa, who was chosen as the best pop/R&B performer by TikTok users rather than Adele.
It means that, for the time being at least, Robbie Williams remains one gong ahead of Adele in the race to become the most-awarded musician in British history, with 13 awards.
Additionally, Coldplay was awarded as the Best group and Holly Humberstone was awarded the Brits Rising Star. On the other hand Little Simz was awarded the Best New Artist for the year 2022. A new trend was also seen as more female winners were noticed than the male winners marking a new benchmark.
