6 People Injured In Shooting at Oregon Rap Concert

A sudden outburst of gunshots at a Rap concert caused panic and left multiple people with injuries. The incident occurred in Oregon, outside the concert hall where a Rap concert was scheduled in a while.

Details of The Incident

Gunshots were heard from a back parking lot of the Oregon city’s WOW Hall where rappers Lil Bean and Zay Bang were about to perform in a concert on Friday night.

The concert hall where the rap concert was scheduled is located 2 miles west of the University of Oregon’s campus area. Six people were reported to have been hospitalized following the mass shooting incident.

Eugene Police reported about the incident on Twitter: “Shots fired at WOW Hall, five people transported to the local hospital. Reports came in at 9:29 p.m. reports of multiple shots fired at WOW Hall, 219 W. 8th Avenue. EPD & multiple law enforcement agencies responded, along with Eugene Springfield Fire.”

Among the six people injured, at least one person has been confirmed to be in a critical condition. According to Chris Skinner, the Chief of Eugene Police said that the police arrived within two and a half minutes of the mass shooting incident.

Among the six injured, four are males and two are females and all have suffered gunshot wounds, and the police are not yet properly informed about the condition of the shooting victims but one person has been reported to be undergoing surgery and is in a critical condition.

Statements from the Police and Authorities

In a press conference, Police Chief Chris Skinner said: “What law enforcement found when they came on the scene is what you would exactly expect when six people just got shot. People are just trying to get out of here, their friends are on the ground, they’re trying to help.”

Chris also informed in the press conference: “We have a male in a hoodie that was seen running westbound on 8th (Avenue) right after the shooting. We think that’s our suspect, but we don’t have a lot of information.”

WOW Hall’s interim executive director in a statement said: “You may have heard that there was a shooting outside the WOW Hall tonight at the ‘Lil Bean + Zay Bang’ concert. There is not much information currently available however we heard gunshots in the back parking lot. The motives are not yet known. We do know that some people were injured, but we do not know the extent of the injuries, and we do not want to speculate. We at the WOW Hall want to thank all first responders who came so quickly to ensure everyone’s safety and administer first aid. We believe all staff and volunteers are safe and accounted for. This is unprecedented at the WOW Hall. The police are investigating.”

According to the police, no arrests have been made yet and the witnesses on the scene were not found to be cooperative at the beginning. The incident is currently under investigation.
