Is the popular prequel of ‘Yellowstone’ coming back for season 2?
If you were a die-hard fan of ‘Yellowstone’ then you would have definitely been ensnared by its prequel series 1883. The first season of 1883 aired last year with great reviews from the audience as well as the critics.
The show was stopped at 10 episodes but it was confirmed that more episodes will be coming. Fans are already excited about season 1’s ending and are already asking if there will be a second season for it.

What is 1883 About?
1883 is set before the events of the popular series ‘Yellowstone’ which makes it a prequel to Yellowstone. 1883 features the adventures of the Dutton family while they struggle with poverty but flee from it in Texas.
The family then starts on a journey through the Great Plains in order to get a better living conditions in Montana. The reel life couple in the show is played by real-life couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill playing the role of James and Margaret Dutton respectively.
1883 became the most-watched series on Paramount+ and the series was greatly appreciated by many and the hunger for season 2 increased.
Will There Be a Second Season?
Well, it’s good news for all the hardcore fans of the Yellowstone and 1883 series as your dreams have come true. Paramount+ confirmed earlier this month that certainly have plans to give the fans more of 1883.
Paramount+ announced that they are bringing out a series called 1932 which has been dubbed “the next chapter of the Yellowstone origin story”. 1932 will supposedly be the sequel to 1883 and a prequel to Yellowstone.
Chris McCarthy, the President and CEO of ViacomCBS Media Networks and MTV Entertainment Studios said in a statement: “With the brilliant mind and gifted storytelling of Taylor Sheridan, we have created an entirely new world to explore with 1883 while expanding Yellowstone, and with 1932 we will open up a new chapter in this rapidly growing universe.”
Well, I don’t know about you but this definitely sounds like a Season 2 of 1883. Although the studio has not given an official statement if 1932 will indeed be the sequel of 1883 but the chances of that happening are high.
1883 Season 2 Release Date
As the last two episodes are yet to come out, we can be pretty sure that the second season of 1883 is not coming anytime soon. It might not be happening any time before 2023.

Season 2 will reportedly feature the story of John Dutton’s grandfather and probably have the same amount of episodes as season 1.
