The 7th Annual CCA Writers’ Conference was a great success this year, welcoming 225 students from 39 area high schools for free workshops on topics such as poetry, fantasy, journalism, screenwriting, and college essay writing. The event, hosted by Canyon Crest Academy’s Creative Writing Club, also featured appearances by renowned writers and personalities including: 2017 National Book Award finalist Elana K. Arnold; New York Times bestselling and award-winning authors Kiersten White, Jonathan Maberry, T. Greenwood, Kristen Elizabeth Clark, and MG Hennessey; Hollywood producer, screenwriter, and author Abdi Nazemian; screenwriter and playwright Kendall Sherwood; TV screenwriter and author Daniel Sweren-Becker; and America’s Got Talent star and comedian Taylor Williamson.

The CCA Writers’ Conference was established in 2012 with the goal of helping students to write, publish, and produce their own written work. Last year’s conference was attended by 220 students from 24 high schools. Learn more at www.ccawritersconference2018.weebly.com.
