Meet the Dixon Family
This Active Foursome Lives Life to the Fullest in Carmel Valley
Eric and Stephanie Dixon met during interviews for pediatric dental residency programs in Cincinnati and UCLA. “We were lucky enough to be matched to the same program at UCLA and were engaged before our residency was complete,” revealed Stephanie. They currently own two pediatric dental offices in San Diego – one in Sorrento Valley and the other in the Kensington community. “We both practice full-time and are diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Eric and I are also committed to volunteering our time and expertise in the local community and around the globe,” said Stephanie. She and Eric have two sons, 12-year-old Tyler and 9-year-old Austin.
The Dixon family has many interests, including hiking, soccer, fishing, camping, and traveling. Tyler is a seventh grader at Carmel Valley Middle School. He plays soccer for the local DMCV Sharks Club, is learning to surf in Del Mar, and plays guitar. Austin is in fourth grade at Sage Canyon Elementary School and also plays soccer for the DMCV Sharks. He is currently involved with flag football through Carmel Valley Friday Night Lights. The boys have also accompanied their parents on a recent trip to Cambodia with International Health Emissaries. “We felt very fortunate that we were able to bring Tyler and Austin on our latest trip to help those in need. We set up a fully running clinic and were able to treat 60 to 70 people per day for several days. The boys participated in the clinic, as well as learned about the children of Cambodia,” stated Stephanie. She and Eric have provided care in Cambodia twice, Guatemala twice, and Peru twice. According to the Dixons, these trips are a wonderful way to help those in need while traveling to truly amazing locations.
Eric is a native San Diegan who graduated from Torrey Pines High School in 1994. Stephanie was born in Northern California and was raised in Reno, NV. The Dixon family moved into their current home in Del Mar Mesa about a year ago, and they love the area. “We really enjoy having so many other families with children nearby. We also love being close to two of our favorite places: Torrey Pines State Beach and Peñasquitos Canyon. We can often be found hiking at the beach and mountain biking on the trails in Peñasquitos Canyon,” related Stephanie.
