Eat, Gather, Relax

Dolce at the Highlands Serves Up the Finest Experience in Casual Dining

When Dr. Anthony Smith first conceptualized Dolce Pan E Vino, he looked to the local experts in fine dining, notably Mille Fleur, Market Restaurant + Bar, and Pamplemousse Grille, for inspiration. He thought highly of the restaurants and sought to create a casual restaurant that would complement them. With support from the other restaurants, Anthony conceptualized Dolce – the Italian word for “sweet” – as the model for fine casual dining. Following the inevitable success of Dolce Pano E Vino, its sister restaurant came to Pacific Ranch Highlands in 2016. Having now celebrated its first anniversary in February, Dolce at the Highlands remains dedicated to providing the community with the best culinary and wine experience available in a warm, relaxed, and joyful setting.

From the moment customers walk through the front door, they are guaranteed to food and customer service of the highest quality. Having found their niche in Italian-inspired Californian cuisine, Dolce’s family of expert chefs offers delicious lunch, dinner, and mid-day merriment (happy hour) options made from the freshest local farm-to-table ingredients. Recipes range from a mix of traditional to creative, but all with a “Dolce” Italian-Californian flair. Don’t have time to sit down and try their fare? You’re in luck! Busy patrons can stop by the Dolce Formaggeria to take home select house-made pasta sauces, sandwiches, artisan cheeses, salamis, baguettes, wine, and more.

“We will do whatever we can within our power to ensure that your experience is the best that it can possibly be.”

And whether you’re taking food to go or staying to enjoy the stylish ambiance, something you can always count on from Dolce is excellent service. The team follows a philosophy of service that ensures great quality, professionalism, a sense of community, and, of course, fun! “Everybody says this, but we act on it!” said Manager Courtney MacDonald . “We will do whatever we can within our power to ensure that your experience is the best that it can possibly be.” The restaurant’s staff is comprised of people who truly have a passion for hospitality and demonstrate a genuine love for creating the ultimate dining experience.

In addition to their fresh food and welcoming staff, Dolce possesses a culture and ambiance all its own. The establishment offers a relaxing yet sophisticated environment in both their dining room and under their patio umbrellas, where customers can shed stress and responsibilities from their shoulders and enjoy a warm sense of community with their dining experience. The driving force behind the restaurant is, ultimately, to create a gathering space. “Because we believe in this vision,” Courtney shared, “we at Dolce at the Highlands firmly believe that the commercial success will follow, allowing us to become a part of the Carmel Valley community for years to come.”
