Members of the Pacific Highlands Ranch (PHR) community will host the Annual Cinco de Mayo Block Party after a three-year hiatus. The event – which garnered more than 300 guests the last year it ran – offers family fun for all. “This is a community gathering to meet new neighbors, make friends, have fun, and network,” said Aaron Johnson, PHR community watch coordinator.

Guests will enjoy live music, raffle prizes, food trucks, and refreshments at the free festival. For kids, there will be facepainting, games, bounce houses, firetrucks, and more. Attendees are also encouraged to enter contests for the best jalapeño and guacamole, with the latter contest being judged by District One Councilmember Sherri Lightner. To enter either contest email Aaron at prior to April 29.

The event, open to all Carmel Valley residents, will take place May 7 from 2 to 7 p.m. on Cornflower Trail in 92130. A portion of funds generated from sponsorship and raffle ticket sales will go to Rady Children’s Hospital.
