The Del Mar Union School District (DMUSD) recently appointed newest member, 92130 resident Darren Gretler, to the governing board of trustees. Darren will fill the seat left vacant with the resignation of former board member Alana Kholos until the term expires in November 2016. Darren was selected for the vacant seat from a field of two well-qualified candidates who each had diverse experiences. When it was decided that Darren possessed the qualifications needed in a board member, the board approved the appointment by a unanimous vote. Darren felt a calling to become a board member when he realized his children were nearing school age and he began thinking about the relationship between families and DMUSD. “I’m excited to contribute to the leadership team’s efforts to sustain the district’s excellence, build on accomplishments, and ensure continued success, keeping the district a recognized model for the state,” expressed Darren.
