The Carmel Valley Recreation Council celebrated another Summer Serenades Concert Series this summer at the Carmel Valley Recreation Center. Families, friends, and neighbors came out on Sunday evenings to dance, socialize, and have fun. The public was encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, and refreshments, and many enjoyed picnics along with the music. Children were invited to approach the stages and get up close and personal with some of the performers. This year’s performers included variety dance bands Atomic Groove and NRG, country western band The Clay Colton Band, Sue Palmer Queen of Boogie Woogie, and Reggae band Upstream and the Caribbean Gems. The Carmel Valley Recreation Center also held two movies in the park where 92130 residents were invited to gather and enjoy showings as well as entertainment throughout the summer.
