First Responders BBQ
Your Neighborhood Heroes
While San Diegans are no stranger to experiencing wildfire, we are incredibly grateful to have such responsive and fast-acting emergency services in our neighborhoods. In recognition of their work to protect homes during the Bernardo Fire this past May, City Councilman Mark Kersey and the Peñasquitos Emergency Response Council hosted a Thank You BBQ for San Diego’s first responders. Surrounded by food and friends, residents were able to come out and personally thank their first responders for their hard work. Councilman Kersey, San Diego Police Department Chief Shelley Zimmerman, and San Diego Fire-Rescue Assistant Chief Brian Fennessy were all in attendance. If you see a firefighter, police officer, or EMT around your neighborhood, shake their hand and tell them thanks for continuing to keep your neighborhood safe.
