Sarina Nash Excels in Academics While Pursuing Her Modeling Career
For Sarina Nash, it’s not unusual to balance photo shoots with homework and biology projects. She is a model, on the cusp of making it big, and an AP student at Torrey Pines High School whose GPA is as impressive as her modeling success. “I have a GPA of 3.88 right now and hope to be over 4.0 soon. In modeling, my biggest job so far was for the May 2013 issue of Seventeen Magazine,” related Sarina, who was discovered when she was thirteen.
Since that chance meeting with a photographer outside a local supermarket, Sarina’s career has taken off. She is signed with two agencies – Stars Model Management in the United States and Cinq Deux Un Models in Japan. “I spent last summer working in Tokyo. My mom came with me for two weeks, and after that, I was living and working in Tokyo on my own,” revealed Sarina.

The independence that modeling has given Sarina is something of which her family is very proud. According to her mother, Teresa, Sarina has become a stronger and more world-savvy young woman because of her modeling career. “Sarina had the opportunity to personally talk with supermodel Coco Rocha recently, and she learned a great deal. Successful models are truly smart businesswomen who have to form a great sense of self-confidence,” stated Teresa.
When it comes to school, Sarina enjoys problem-solving and learning about the world around her. She cites math and biology as her favorite subjects. “I love math because of the opportunity to learn new tricks and rules in the subject. I also like science and when I was in middle school, I participated in the Science Olympiad several times, earning medals both individually and with the Carmel Valley Middle School team,” stated Sarina. Now that she is a junior at TPHS, she is thrilled to have the chance to explore many different academic subjects, and learn from teachers and classmates who have unique talents and interests.
Looking to the future, Sarina is open to anything, especially adventure. “I want to travel and hope to take a gap year to do so, maybe together with modeling, before heading to college. I’m not really sure about what career I want to pursue yet,” explained Sarina. It is safe to say that whatever path Sarina chooses, with her academic abilities and natural talents, she will be a star.
