A recital to determine the winners of San Diego Youth Symphony and Conservatory’s (SDYS) annual Concerto Competitions  will be held on Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Mingei International Museum in Balboa Park. SDYS students performing at the recital have been selected as finalists following a preliminary competition among twenty-three applicants. The finalists include 92130 students: Chae Yoon Baek, Clarinet (Carmel Valley Middle School); Emily Jeong, Clarinet (Torrey Pines High School); Christine Kim, Flute (Torrey Pines High School); and Song Lee, Violin (Carmel Del Mar Elementary School).

Admission to the recital is free and open to the public.The competition winners will gain the prestigious opportunity to perform the concerto of their choice with a full orchestra at SDYS’ Spring Showcase and Ovation Concerts at Copley Symphony Hall in June 2014. The Mingei Museum galleries will be open for guests to enjoy the Mingei’s current exhibitions.
