Local San Diego high school students, Kaley Powers (entering her junior year at Westview High School), and Emily North (entering her junior year at Canyon Crest Academy), will be unveiling their aquatic mural project of two months as part of the festivities of Villa Musica’s Summer Open House at 1 p.m. Emily and Kaley designed and painted the mural from beginning to end. Both girls have dedicated many hours to this project as part of their Community Service requirements for graduation. “What better way for two such talented young women to spend their summer,” said Villa Musica’s ED, Fiona Chatwin. “We are lucky to have such talented artists who are so motivated and creative. It has been a long-time dream of the school to have an aquatic themed mural in the children’s music room. We have always called Studio 5 The Aquarium, but now it has become a truly magical place.”

Other Open House festivities will include attendance by Insliders, a food truck that specializes in mini-hamburgers, a performance by Villa Musica’s rock band, mini lessons given by Villa Musica’s world class faculty, and much more.
