“Quotient” was written by CCA student Alex Powell and Adelyn Chan (currently attending UC Berkeley) and included actors Daniel Osterman and Alexis Mickens, and cinematographer Jennifer Smart. Not only was the film chosen from over 100 international entries to be a part of the Intelligent Use of Water Film Competition, the piece heralded a win as the “Best Student Short Film Award” in the Water Take 1 film competition this fall.

Bringing back the same team (with the addition of Richard Liu), the students completed another short film, “Erasing the Lines” in just over three months. The film, which was a technically challenging film with over 100 shots and animated sequences all squeezed into a powerful five minutes, was screened at the Interlochen Future of Film Festival in November. “Erasing the Lines” can be viewed at https://vimeo.com/43716943. The film was the overall winner at the 2012 CCA Student Film Festival.
